Ideas so far

Magazine name:

• Solo
• Uprising
• Echo
• Voice

I think I have decided to go with the name "Voice" because it has a lot to do with music, and matches my music genre well.



Location:
Plan A:

Wardour Castle 



 I think I may take my photos here, because works well with my music genre of "Indie",  also it is easily accessible because I live quite close to Wardour Castle. This location will be easy for my models to get to as well.

Plan B:
Stourhead gardens

If I can not get to Wardour castle for any reason then my plan B is to go to Stourhead gardens. I have picked Stourhead because it has perfect light no matter where you are in the gardens and also I can easily get here. The amount of nature here will also work really well with the theme of my magazine.

Possible model shoots:

This is a group photo of the band Nirvana, and I really like the way this photo is from above, because it doesn't matter so much about the background, also it could work well if I was going to do a photo of more than one person.  I think this fits my genre really well.  I like this way this photo is black and white as well, because its looks very dramatic and would work well. I may base one of my photos for my music magazine on this photo because I think it is very effective.



This is a photo of Hozier, I like this photo because of the background. I think I could base one of my photos off of this. The photo looks like a ruin of maybe a house or something, which is very similar to where I will be taking my photos for my music magazine, because I am doing it a ruin of a castle. I also like the way his blue denim jacket stands out against the earthy colours within this photo, again something I may use in my photos.

This is a group photos of the band Arctic Monkeys. I really like this idea of putting photo in a polaroid form. Although I am not having band in my magazine, I think it will be as effective for an alone singer or a duet. Although I may not use this idea for one of my main images, I could use it for images that would be on my double page spread.

Finally, I like the idea of changing the background, like this  photo, the background of this photo really fits my genre and so does what this model is wearing. Although I am taking my models to a certain location to take the photos, I could add a background to one if it does not fit in to my magazine.











Final Models:

 Lauren Stevens

I will be using Lauren because I think she fits my genre of "Indie" very well. Also she has distinct features such as her hair, which will work really well and make her stand out amongst the background. Lauren hair colour will bring out earth colours as well, which will be the main colours of my magazine.

Hannah Weeks

I will be using Hannah because again, she fits my genre of "Indie" well. I also like the fact that Hannah has short hair compared to Lauren, because this makes them different from each other and could widen the audience for the magazine. Hannah also has very distinct features such as her eyes. Her eyes are very blue and large, making her stand out.






Gabriel Roels (Photo coming soon)

I will be using Gabriel also for my music magazine. Gabriel has dark hair, much like Grace, but will add diversity to my magazine as I do not have another male model. He will also fit the genre well and will open the audience up to males as well as females.


Font Choices

I found choosing fonts quite hard because I found so many fonts that would work really well, it is also obvious that I will not be using only one font for the entire of my magazine. But I have choosen these two fonts because they look the best.

Font: Milkmoustachio 

I have choosen this font because I love how it looks like its been written, not typed. It looks like someones draw it. I think it fits my genre well because its not necessarily neat, but looks very careless, it reminds me of the music.

Font: Autumn font

This text is very different from the one above it but I have choosen it for this reason. The text above it I could use for something like a double page spread, or the title. But this text I will be using for quotes from the singer/bands. I will be using it for this because it stands out and looks a lot more serious than the one above it.
